MDS 3.0 Tip: Understand how to read the new assessment form

A quick comparison between the MDS 2.0 and the MDS 3.0 draft item set, which was released by CMS in October, shows the new assessment form will be organized very differently than the previous form.

The MDS 3.0 draft item set features a larger print size, making the form several pages longer than the MDS 2.0. The new assessment will also use a different labeling scheme, assigning each item a five-digit, alphanumeric label. The first draft item is A0100, and the last item is Z0500.
