FEMA sending PPE to SNFs

The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) is preparing to send personal protective equipment to SNFs.

CNN reports that a FEMA spokesperson told the news organization that they are preparing to coordinate shipments of PPE, like surgical masks, gowns and gloves, to nursing homes across the nation.
However, LeadingAge has called out the promise as insufficient. “Pretending a symbolic one-week supply of PPE for select nursing homes is a meaningful solution is an insult to millions of vulnerable Americans, their families, and their caregivers,” the association states in its response to the new.
