Federal government could potentially reclaim $76M in Medicaid payments

Medicaid payments totaling $76 million to a chain of nursing homes in Georgia could potentially be reclaimed by the federal government.

The upper payment limit (UPL) program, which was designed to bolster Medicaid rates by raising them to the rate of Medicare payments, led to a dispute between the Georgia Medicaid agency and the federal government.

The $76 million is currently has the potential to be clawed back by CMS.
